Full name - Shaun Shinhyung "Kay.G" Kang

Kay.G, born in Sep 25, 1985 Seoul City, Korea, raised in USA was eager to get on to rap music and hiphop cultures since the early years. In High School days moved to US, living in westcoast cities such as Los Angeles, Kay.G ended up in Seattle where he met MC's Ghost Man, MC MEST, and DJ Panakronik, DJ L-RAY and finally met engineer Stuntman, who is the former recording engineer of Nate Dogg. Participating in some freestyle onstages and forming a group called  "4bidden Individuals" with High School collegues, he had a chance to appear in a mixtape "EPIN". Kay.G was also interested in other styles of art such as crafts and designing, he majored in Industrial Design. After attending college in Seattle, In 2003, Kay.G planned to move to his home country Korea and start music there. At first, a famous Korean music producer approched Kay.G for cutting a new record deal. However, situation got twisted somehow and he got expelled from the Korean record label because of the music style and lyricism he brought was not actually suitable for Korean audiences, and the time was crucial, Korean Army called him for duty. After serving for 2 years in ROK army for miltary services, he and his High School friend DJ L-RAY (who was also in Korea at that stage) formed a group called "Blackdope". As individual record artists, they had to set up basics for the record label such as finding studios and manufacturers. Noticing a internet profit for the market, they finally cut a deal with INS Digital Records for 2 digital albums which sells only in digital format for internet downloads such as MP3's and ringtones.

In 2007, Kay.G and L-RAY visited Bangkok Thailand with an invitation of their old time High School collegue who stayed there. Noticing numerous hiphop artists, in 2008 when they visited to Thailand, Kay.G and L-RAY finally had a chance to collaborate with many featured infamous Thailand's hiphop artists such as former members of Gancore Club, Da Killaz, and members fromThaitanium and Southside Phuket, granted them with a hit song "U and I". In late 2008, the group Blackdope was officially not active because of L-RAY's departure to Singapore for his personal reasons, however, Kay.G was eager to get on bringing U.S influenced Hiphop music to the penninsula of Korea, therefore had a chance to collaborate with artists DVS, who is the first Korean MC to feature Xzibit and Bone Thugs N Harmony members, and Jessica HO from Korean hiphop group Uptown, and Krayzie Bone's Thugline records.
